To do this, I must go to Google App Passwords and create a new password for the Pidgin app. I use the two-factor authentication to sign in to my Google account, so I need an app-specific password to log in to Pidgin. It’s the first part of your Gmail email address:

Run the following command for the specified purpose: sudo apt install gir1.2-gtk-3.0. It is used to execute the My Weather Indicator deb file. Now, on your Ubuntu 22.04 system, install the essential package gir1.2-gtk-3.0. Open the Pidgin client, add an account and select the ‘XMPP’ Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol. #INSTALL YAKYAK UBUNTU UPDATE#
First command is for Fedora, the second for Ubuntu. Before we begin the installation procedure, press CTRL+ALT+T to open up the terminal, then use the given command to update your system packages: sudo apt update & sudo apt upgrade -y. Really easy to do that and the program works like a charm with Hangouts chats. On my Linux machines, a really suitable solution is to use Pidgin and configure it as Hangouts client. Use Pidgin to rule them all, Hangouts too I could use the web-browser way, but I’m an old school guy.
I copied the following command from the official website: rapids22.06 python3.9 cudatoolkit11.5 jupyterlab dash graphistry pycaret tensorflow. You can also install YakYak as a Snap app on Ubuntu. As indicated in the instructions, I have not installed CUDA on the Ubuntu distribution. YakYak is an alternative Google Hangouts app that works a little more like a regular desktop app. There are some apps, but no one is fully comfortable for me. I followed the updated instructions, available here, to install RAPIDS on WSL2 Windows 11. I didn’t find a really native Hangouts client app for Linux. There are two methods to install YakYak on Ubuntu, either by downloading its Debian package or downloading it from the snapcraft store, we will explain both.
Or open terminal via Ctrl+Alt+T and run command instead to install the snap: sudo snap install yakyak Input your password (no visual feedback while typing) when it prompts and hit Enter. Hangsout is available in many ways, also directly from the Gmail web page, but there are no clients for Linux. YakYak now is available as Snap, simply search for and install ‘yakyak’ in Ubuntu Software (need login with Ubuntu One account). I use Ubuntu and Fedora on different machines, I also use (in some cases and as alternative to Telegram and Skype) Google Hangsouts to communicate with friends and for work.
